Well overhead, lined up Torrey Pines breaking 100 yards off shore is one of them. It probably breaks like that a small handful of times a year in that pic. That's why I stated "generally" and "most". I didn't want to go down the road of "Can't" and "won't work". I'm certainly aware there are. I like a board to be a lot more sharp on the turn, loose and reactive in general beach break with the shifting, racey sections and peaks that beach breaks will provide. There are always "those days", but again I don't find true gliders as an optimal board choice for every day beach break use. If he's looking to stay large with a board for general beach break usage I'd go with other options. That's just me...
