I wondered the same thing, but it is an invitational. Cut and dry. I do not know Joe, but have seen his videos pop up before, and have been in the water with him one time. He kept inside and didn't hog waves (and he was being filmed). Usually when we get the longboarders that are in the in crowd, we don't get waves due to their rotation. There is nothing worse than not being able to catch waves on your break because a few people have the privilege of surfing all of the time vice working and decide they need every wave. To close things up, Joe getting invited or not, I think he got what he or his dad was looking for. Look at how many pages this is on this forum alone. Do you think that he got some of the publicity that he was looking for? I think so. |
