The kid rides single fins, is talented on the tip, and has a semi classical style (I am being as uncritical as possible on this part). I don't think it's his in the water approach that is his hurdle, sadly I think it is his mouth and whatever past baggage he is dragging. If someone gave him a black wetsuit, or a less flashy one, kept him from flipping his hair every third wave, and asked him to minimize his hip thrust / arm raise from the nose, and muzzled him, while also taking away his ability to make future self glorifying videos, he'd fit right in. p.s.
