I've been a big fan of Christenson shapes for a while and have 8 of his shapes. I've been blown away by the quality of each of the customs I've received in terms of attention to detail in everything from the curves to the art and glassing, especially on the mids and larger shapes, including the longevity of the boards. The brand is clearly positioned as a premium board at a premium price point and I think most people on this forum acknowledge that. While the feedback on beefing up glassing on shortboards can be valid, that is the whole point of going with a custom order. The only thing that I wish could be improved is more Real style videos where they really inspect the board to give the viewer a better understanding of the shape, intent, and then couple that with average joes surfing it as opposed to pro-level ripping. I personally pour over those videos before placing an order for a board I have never seen in person. Click to expand... thank you for the kind words! I agree completely with your wish. Getting more videos with average/regular joe surfers is pivotal as that is the majority of the consumers (we all like to think we surf better than we do). There is an old "win on sunday, sell on monday" mentality with a lot of surf brands and their marketing. Not saying that it doesnt work but I do feel it can alienate some potential buyers. As for the Real style videos, those are in the pipeline right now. Just waiting for the time to steal Chris away while he's in the shop.
