It’s lasted me over 300 sessions and still has some life left. It’s not the stretchiest wetsuit, but it’s warm enough to surf year-round here in Oregon. About a month ago, I bought an Xcel Comp+ 4/3 to replace it. I originally wanted the Comp X, but Cleanline didn’t have my size in stock, so I went with the Comp+. The suit is super stretchy, warm and soft, but after the very first session I noticed the neoprene peeling on the back of the knee. This was extremely unusual—it was a small, clean day on a longboard with no wipeouts, no rocks, nothing. Since these wetsuits come with a one-year warranty, I contacted Xcel. After reviewing the case, they offered to replace it with an Xcel Comp X 4.5/3.5, which is the most premium suit in their Comp line. It’s slightly thicker and not quite as stretchy as the Comp+, but it feels great. I’ve attached a photo showing the peeling at knee level on the Comp+. |
