I did love the looseness and playfulness of that board but the CC is a different beast, it wants to be in bigger surf. And it screams in a straight line. I've been looking at some that blends the two. Furrow's high aspect twins might fit the bill… https://www.trueames.com/products/furrow-twin-futures-compatible Click to expand... @jvri 's (and others) old board was a 6'10" Piseas. Glasson 101 upright twins. Rails and overall foil were more performance-y. I grabbed it from him to compare and contrast with a 6'8" JH Long Fish with glassed on geppy slant backs I had gotten just before he offered his up - Very different boards in my mind. The Piseas with pulled in tail block, upright twins was better in beachbreak and sectioning waves where maneuverability was key. Also really forgiving and fun backside. The more traditional Long Fish with keels is much more drivey and a straight line rocket on a longer running wave. Pull a cutback to burn off speed out on the shoulder and get back to the pocket and continue. Just my $0.01 as these were only my second and third forays into twin fins. There are probably more experienced twin riders that can offer more nuance. I do remember the first time got the Long Fish to click on a good wave it really opened my mind to the speed and flow of a twin fin! |
