Never had Golfed before but I had good core and upper body strength. They showed me how to hold a club and I laid into that ball with every fiber, and the first and only time, it took off like a shot toward the first hole. My friends were sure I was joking with them about not having golfed before, since they said that all Doctors Golf. I assured then that there were no lessons given between Freshman Tooth Drilling and Extractions. That was the last ball that traveled where it was supposed to. Eventually they gave me orange balls to help locate my errant strokes. Every subsequent swing would send the ball arcing to the right, and at one point, over the trees and onto a nearby road accompanied by the sound of screeching brakes. A short time later a fellow drove up in a Golf cart with an upset woman as his passenger asking if any of us were playing with orange balls, since one was stuck in a hole in her windshield. I figured that I had enough hobbies to enjoy the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat without adding this one. |
