18024 228 Post Malibu/SanO Notes 84 Mango Bill Oct 3, 2008 2008-10-03T02:41:49-0400 Last day for us was Tuesday we had to surf then drive up to longbeach/carson to drop off boards then make it back to orange county airport to drop off the VW camper so the plan was morning session at old mans for the left and on the way.Nice how plans go south when the weather and surf align,The left at old mans was crowded and lots of rubber duckies on the inside I swear to god I thought I speared this guy on the V-pin who just watched me drop stright down on him with no attempte to paddle over the wave or even move:shock:.After the second one of those I moved down to inside high tide dogpatch and caught a bunch little zippers to end my last session on a high note.We got to cook the last of the eggs and hit the road before noon but the sun was out in all it's glory and Skip Frye was making the rights south of the point look so good we paddled out for a trunking session to end the trip on.We ran in to skip three times over the trip and he was good to talk to and fun to watch surf his style is all "Skip Frye" fifty pluss years of surfing and one day he was on his 7th session and this day we saw him change boards at least twice. The drive north in the heat wave in a non airconditioned van was sweaty but a good way to end the summer as we came home to low 60's temps with overnight lows in the 30's but came home to a good northwest wind swell and got some zippy sanbar lefts to welcome me back to the "Land of Laketards" Oldmans in the morning Skip Frye styling's The welcome home surf Good to see all the Longboard.net nerds and meet some new ones had a great time as usual and can't wait to do it again next year Mango Bill
