Couple guys in little red car pulled up think one was robbie kegal and proceeded to wake and bake with a bong,can't remember last time i saw a bong think it was 80 somehting .Then this kidnapper van rolled up with a guy that looked familliar from surf movies,so I asked if he was tyler warren and it was we shot the bull with him and he showed us his new hobie with this crazy fin. He made the surf look good so we wen't in and shortly there after the curse of the Laketards turned it to windy slop Frozenbolt checkin it What it looked like Pickle and his friend checkin the surf after the flight of the v-pin,got say he is one of the niceest guys,no attitude on him,he was stoked to see some lake surf picks I had on my camera and talk about lake surf and his travels. He showed his newest colabaration with terry martin,I think it was 9'6" pintail nose rider The fin Got some cover shots of him surfing,I love his smooth style,no herky jerky movment just the most flowing smooth style fun to watch. After we got out of the "Point by the Lake" we diecided to check out some surf shops as the wind was up big time and we had a hankerin for Pedros Tacos,but before we left we had another" Brush with a Surf Celebrity." This time it was someone who should be a insperation to everyone a 80 something surfer still going out and some times charging hard the eternaly stoked Eve Fletcher.Don't know if you guys know of her but Wetsand did this video of her http://www.wetsand.com/videos/v/20080825/eve_fletcher___the_oldest_female_surfer__we_think_-5802.html Man she is a charchater we got to talk story with her and freddy one of the three wisemen of the point,Freddy had a picture of him at Killer Dana before the harbour was put in,those two talked are ears off.I have to say these are the things that make a surf trip more than just two a day sessions and fish tacos. San O is a magical place and every trip out always has some encouter that makes for so much more than just surfing it's living history Eve and Freddy A picture of eve on a big day at the point a couple years back:shock::shock::shock: Freddy with his three generations surf photos Freddy at Killer Dana back in the day After wasting the day in surf shops drooling over surf boards I remebered the old wind block surf spot might be working,so we headed over to Doheney and checked it out the tide was just starting to fill in and it was knee high with four guys out,a Laketard's Dream We were not the olny one with this Idea as we ran into Skip Frye in the parking lot after we checked it,but guess it was not his Idea of a dream .Marieo and his buddys showed up late along with TimsurferTim and his buddy after we called him,me and bolt got a ton of empty waves before the after school crowd started filtering in.I let marieo ride the Indy Nose dider for a while before we left and shot these of him.
