169087 7938 CVOID-19 REAL (non media) Hands on Data 54 takedown Mar 28, 2020 2020-03-28T18:02:39-0400 After a long week including a hospital visit, sleepless nights, a ton of coughing and other aches I was able to get tested for normal respiratory issues and came up positive for bacterial pneumonia. I've never been so happy to have pneumonia with antibiotics doing the trick. Some information from our local hospital and doctors office. - the hospital won't test unless admitted or have come in direct contact with a known case, despite many symptoms - the hospital won't test for other things because the swabs are in short supply - there is no treatment for those with mild symptoms, stay home and only come if having difficulty breathing - they recommend isolating, but there is no follow up to see if you are doing so - doctors office has much more leeway on testing - doctor was happy to prescribe antibiotics and test for other respiratory issues and then test for covid if those came back negative -d was pissed off about the situation, lack of testing, lack of supplies and had sourced his own safety goggles with prescription lenses because face shields are in high demand - county health websites are out of date - senator's office acted surprised about the lack of testing Another doctor friend relayed that 15-45min tests are coming really soon and will help tremendously in the fight. It's getting bad right now with low supplies and no testing. Basically if someone is admitted they assume they are positive.
