I have a 10'8 Cooperfish red tiger custom square tail (One of little Al's old ones I think ) and it is the best board I have and I have quite a few !!! I've just come back from France with it and as usual it went great. Forget Tandem with a big board , you HAVE to move about on it to speed up ,slow down, turn , whatever but the rewards are huge. It is by far the most satisfying board I have to ride and I do worry about damaging it but it has to be ridden . I am lucky enough to have a 10'5 coopdesign MF and a couple of Coop's that are nearly finished and I can't wait to see them and get them in the water , which is where they belong. Don't get me wrong , I have Bings ,Harbours, Hobie's , Yater's etc and they are all great including a 10' Trestle Special that I almost snapped on a big day (stress crack right across now reaired) but they HAVE to be ridden or they mean nothing ! I have had some of the best waves of my life on the TS but if the worst happens I will have great memories and 2 5' TS's to hang on the wall! Keep supporting your shapers because the boards can be replaced but the shapers can't. |
