All went over 300,000 miles and none ever had an oil leak or needed a head gasket. In fact the first one went over 600,000 miles with the original motor, trans and even turbo, but never had to do the head gasket. That said, I changed my oil and filter every 3,000 miles and used quality oil and filter. While I love my Subarus, I don't think I would buy a used one. If you don't take care of them, those aluminum blocks can be a nightmare. But if you are buying new and take care of it, they are hard to beat. I put multiple long boards inside and have as many as eleven on the roof, I will have to look for that picture. |
