Its a 6'9 Lovemachine in Varial. I picked it up in a trade and honestly didnt think Id love it as much as I do. Looking at the shape in person is kinda wild. It has so much going on between the way the rails are foiled - especially mid way through, the way it gets potato chip thin in the tail and then you've got that flowing channel with the V inside of it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIt paddles really well, it has great glide getting into waves. My initial take was that on rail the board felt surprisingly fast. In 2-4 foot beach breaks it was connecting sections with no problem. A lot more performance than I was expecting, feels really good to come off the bottom and hit the lip with it. Cutbacks to re-entries felt very smooth, no feeling of getting hung up or sticky through the transitions.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOriginally I got it with McCallums twinzer set and my first month or so was with those fins. I was able to find the proper fins designed for the board through NVS and finally got to take it out on some proper size after that last hurricane swell at low tide topanga. The board could take off later and steeper than I would have expected. I surprised myself a few times thinking I was a bit too far out but that glide paddling into waves would kick in and really help me get into it.  The NVS fins held beautifully and gave me a lot more drive to race down the line. The rail game feels so good on the bigger open faced sections. Definitely confidence inspiring.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI did switch back to the McCallums the next day when the swell had dropped a little but we still had good sized sets. They definitely felt a bit looser but more playful. I had to be careful dropping in and coming off the bottom to not press to hard into them because you could feel them wanting to slide out a bit. But they felt super fun once the wave slowed down a bit and you had time to play off the tail. Comparing the 2 fin sets the NVS did feel like they had a bit more drag and tighter to turn, but they held very well in powerful sections. Definitely will mostly use those when the waves pick up. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIve never ridden a Lovelace shape before and was kinda skeptical at first but this board has continued to surprise and impress me. Hope this helps give some idea on the board, even though I kinda morphed it into a fin review as well haha."]], "columns": ["post_id", "thread_id", "thread_title", "post_number", "author_username", "post_date", "post_date_iso", "post_body"], "primary_keys": ["post_id"], "primary_key_values": ["257261"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.6035460010025417, "license": "Public Domain"}
