You don't have to be world class to make good boards.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI think Ryan was early on the whole self promotion via the internet thing and profited from that. He did it at a time when it wasn't as much the norm in society as it is today and lots of the elders found distasteful. Plenty of people do like his boards.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI think more recently he perhaps should have thought before he starting typing........\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n(Also Plancktom is a great surfer but very modest!)\n        \n\n\nClick to expand...\n\n\n\n\nAll shapers need to surf or have surfed well at some point to know what the fuck a surfboard needs to do. It can't be faked, you either do, or ya don't. I've stated my gripe about rl on here before, several yeas ago, the ownership of the resin dot was hilarious, the discounting of apprenticeship was stupid and the general lack of humility annoying. Otherwise good for him, and his surfing has improved which is good too."]], "columns": ["post_id", "thread_id", "thread_title", "post_number", "author_username", "post_date", "post_date_iso", "post_body"], "primary_keys": ["post_id"], "primary_key_values": ["219769"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8312699992529815, "license": "Public Domain"}
