This equation needs to have as its independent variables theta (the angle that the projectile is projected) and the initial velocity. I intend to get the values of the independent variable through observation.also this equation needs to be capable of being derived by a 9-12 year old of moderate reasoning skill. A back ground in algebra is assumed. However, no calculus. No derivatives. In other words, whatever you provide , it needs to be presentable to a student with no maths beyond basic algebra.\n\n\n\nI'd love to see what you come up with.
