I've only been there one other time but it was flat everywhere else and I was looking for anything to surf. It was around 10am, overcast skies. I just paddled back out from catching a small left. As I was sitting up on my board I noticed an object in the water and the water starting to swirl around about 20' to my left side coming diagonally towards shore but not directly towards me. At first I thought it was a ball of kelp then maybe a seal but then the tips of the tail fin and dorsal fin breached the water. By this time it was about 10' away when I picked up my feet and swung my board around. As I hauled ass to the beach it made a big splashed and was gone. It was roughly 7' in length from fin to fin and charcoal grey. I thought I was relatively safe no more than 15 yards from shore and the water was about 4' deep. There was a guy fishing from shore who saw the splash and came up to me as I got out of the water. He didn't see the shark only the splash. I have a feeling the shark didn't even know I was there and it was just cruising along."]], "columns": ["post_id", "thread_id", "thread_title", "post_number", "author_username", "post_date", "post_date_iso", "post_body"], "primary_keys": ["post_id"], "primary_key_values": ["100112"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.3382400011323625, "license": "Public Domain"}
